Pravda has reported that a dog gave birth to a litter of puppies, one of which was a human-looking mutant. Poor little puppy.

Um. WOW. That says a little something about the breeding process…
haha.
[...] blog, I spotted some pretty disturbing news pertaining to a weird puppy offspring. You can view it here. I’m not even going to post a picture, because quite frankly it’s disturbing and [...]
Hiya, Chad. I thought the same thing, I have to admit, because that puppy looks strangely human. That’s not possible though … is it?
I haven’t been able to find any updates on the puppy’s condition, or even whether the poor little thing lived or is receiving medical care.
i was expecting that pic that keeps circulating with the human face on the dog.
Who knows whats going on anymore -_-
It’s impossible to cross-breed humans and dogs, so please rest assured. It’s illegal to even try. Besides, if someone managed to breed a human-dog, this will be world-class news for it would completely shatter out definition of “species”.
Seems like it’s just an ill-formed puppy. I don’t think it’s done by a researcher, unless there are some researchers out there who would put their research in a Nike shoe box.
Is it illegal to try to cross-breed humans and dogs in Russia? That’s where this occurred, I got the photo from Pravda.
Nevertheless, you’re right, to do so would completely shatter our definition of “species”, and it would be world-class scientific news.
I also think it’s just a poor little ill-formed puppy. I have looked for updates, but have found none. I’d like to know if the puppy survived, and if so how it is doing.
I’m sure this wasn’t done by researchers, because in other photos it appears the puppy was born to the pet dog of a socioeconomically disadvantaged family.
In the photo, it looks like the puppy is already dead. I wouldn’t suspect cross-breeding, if only because all of the other puppies, which I’m assuming were part of the same litter, look normal. Quite a strange looking animal. I think this illustrates our close genetic relationship to dogs. We’re just a few mutations away from one another.
If the puppy is dead, then I’m super bummed.
Then again, I don’t see how the puppy could live like that either. Maybe that explains why there has been no follow-up on the original Pravda entry, although I’ve looked for one.
where is the reference???
Oops, sorry. http://english.pravda.ru/photo/report/mutant-3050
Actually, if it stopped developing at a certain stage that could be why it looks that way. We all start out looking like a little shrimp, and then certain genes kick in to make every being look the way it does. This poor little thing’s genes just didn’t kick in when they were supposed to.
Very interesting input, Sandy; thanks!

A cross between a human and a dog is about as likely as a cross between a human and petunia. For Chrissakes, were not even the the same order.

Thats creepy!
Just a question, when a pup of a litter dies/is still born, does the mom allow the other pups near it? because in the other photos there is a pup climbing over this one?
I don’t know if a mother dog would allow her pups near a deceased sibling. Good question.
the owner had sex with the dog that nasty
