I previously wrote about the Duct Tape Bandit – by far, one of the most amusing criminals ever – and have an update. (I still think he should have used “masking” tape instead, hehehe.)
Not at all surprisingly, he (real name Kasey Kazee) was required to undergo psychiatric testing, to determine whether he is competent to stand trial.
It has been determined that he is indeed competent to stand trial; the trial date has been set for May. He faces first-degree robbery and second-degree persistent felony offender charges.
As he said when he was originally arrested, not long after they took the duct tape off his face, “I’m not no duct tape bandit. Do da maff, do da homework.”
Surf on over to the original entry for a video of one of the funniest jailhouse interviews ever, and some other really amusing stuff regarding this case (including some songs made of things the Duct Tape Bandit – and his very amused victim – said following his arrest).
Some people are too stupid to be criminals.
