Back in the saddle again

As previously stated, I have been forced to use my office computer after one of my dogs chewed through the power cord to my laptop. As a result of my tendency to ignore work if I combine it with play, I had stopped blogging, and just used some of the entries from my old blog as filler.
I couldn’t decide if I wanted to buy another cord, or if I wanted to buy another laptop. This one is nice, but it’s kind of old, and of course replacement parts like power cords are very, very expensive.
However, day before yesterday, my other half disappeared for about an hour, and when he returned, he brought me a great gift for no particular reason: a universal replacement cord for my laptop, which I can use now, as well as in the future if I get another laptop. It even came with attachments so I can use my laptop in a car, or even on a plane.
So, long story short, I’m back to blogging again. 
Yay!
I would watch out for those universals. I got last year to replace my failing Dell adapter and then within a week my six month old battery failed, puking sludge as it went.
I went back to using Dell parts. I actually found a really good price on a new battery and adapter, but I can’t remember the site right now. I’ll look for it when I go home.
Oh, and depending on how much you use that laptop, eventually the screen will go dark. Don’t buy a whole new LCD. It’s usually the inverter which is cheap (last one I replaced cost $15 on eBay) and easy to replace.
