I hope readers following the Caylee Anthony case have a lot of free time on their hands, because you’re going to need it.
Today, the State Attorney’s office released the discovery in the case against Casey Anthony. All 437 pages of it. This is the same documentation which her attorney, Jose Baez, will receive on the case.
Not only does the discovery include some typically dry police investigative reports, it also includes far more interesting items, such as transcripts of police interviews, including interviews conducted by police with Casey herself, as well as with witnesses such as Anthony Lazzaro, the boyfriend with whom Casey lived during and after the time when Caylee went missing. The discovery is broken up into three (very long) pdf files.
So sit back, put your feet up, and prepare to read the equivalent of an entire book about what is known regarding this case so far.

The first discovery package has some information which has previously been released, such as the arrest affidavit. Something it has which no one has seen before, however, is a transcript of two separate interviews by police, with Casey Anthony.
In the first interview, held at the Anthony home when police originally respond to the 911 calls, the police make it very clear that they don’t believe Casey, but she sticks to her story. In the second interview, held in a room at Universal Studios, they point out that they know every single thing Casey said was a lie, and she still sticks to her story. It takes them forever to get her to admit that she was lying at all, and even then, she fails to answer questions posed to her, and always has a ready excuse for her lies. For example, she says she took them to Universal Studios, knowing full well she didn’t work there, because perhaps someone there will recognize Caylee. Bizarre.
What is most interesting about those interviews, though, is how the cops play her, and how she plays the cops. A definite must-read for those interested in the case.
There is an interesting tidbit of information in that package which really stands out, and which has been discussed in comments on this blog. The police tell Casey that they have the surveillance photos from the Sawgrass Apartments, for the stairs leading to apartment 210, and she’s not in them. Bear in mind, at that point, they thought Caylee went missing on the 9th; it was not until later that they realized that she had been missing since the 16th instead. Therefore, that may very well be true, and it would not be incriminating. Nevertheless, if they really do have security videotape showing that – and bear in mind, it is not only perfectly legal for the police to lie to suspects, it’s also very common – then they should have security video for the 16th as well.
Something else I found interesting is that the mysterious missing phone/SIM card were allegedly given to her by Universal Studios. Does the mysterious phone and missing SIM card even exist, since the job does not?
Last, but certainly not least, her ex-boyfriend Jesse Grund reported to police that Casey had taken down literally hundreds of photos of Caylee from her MySpace and Facebook accounts. Also, boyfriend Tony Lazzaro’s roommate, Roy House, said that Caylee had never stayed overnight at the apartment.

I read all of the pages! There is reference to Jeff Hopkins as being the original reference to Zenaida because Jeff supposedly had the nanny watch his own son. I see a summary of the taped interview with Hopkins, but no mention of whether he confirms that side of her story.
Has anyone seen anything about Jeff disputing Casey’s version of Zenaida watching Jeff’s kid, at his house, etc?
Reply to Roy: Jeff and his parents have, in fact, verified that he had never been a married man, never has sired a son named Zachary or a child by any other name, never has had any need to hire a babysitter and never has recommended to anyone that they hire a babysitter by the Zenaida Gonzalez or by any other name.
You are correct. Jeffrey Hopkins doesn’t have any kids, and he doesn’t know a Zenaida Gonzalez. Those were just more lies from Casey.
I read some of it – wow, unbelievable the web of lies – and anyone who is a sane rational human being can read between the lines and realize Casey is full of crap. I feel bad for the police – they did their best to follow up on things, but with Caset providing no credible informato, what the hell are they supposed to do?

Hi, Humble. I have no idea how anyone is supposed to find this child, when the only person who can help does nothing but lie. I agree, they did their best to follow up, but the bottom line is that they can’t force Casey to talk.
Three other things that struck me.
1) Casey’s car was abandoned next to the dumpster at the check cashing place. Dumpster was fenced in but she would have had access from what it sounds like. Sounds like a good spot to empty a trunk.
2) Interview with Amy delves into how when they were all riding in the car back to Amy’s apartment after Amy had just led Cindy to Casey at Lazarro’s apartment, Casey gets confronted about her lies to Amy about the house. Amy’s response to the detective when Casey was called out…..she just had no response, as if she was never asked. When you read the interview of Casey at Universal, she has the same approach….ignore the question as if it was never posed and respond with the simple answer…”I haven’t seen her since I dropped her with Zenaida”.
Oh, one more. The guy who helps George retrieve his car from the impound lot notes the stench and the flys that come out of the trunk when it’s opened. Too bad that bag from the trunk was thrown away.

Did you see that Kiomarie Cruz stated Casey called her on JULY 9th and she was sure it was that day-and she heard Caylee saying Mommy Mommy Mommy? Casey was asking her for money and then never met up with her. If that is true than the car was abondaned before that.

I find this whole situation unbelievable on many levels! First off this family is getting the kind of national coverage that literally thousands of missing children’s family’s could only dream of and they are so unbelievably ungrateful that it makes me sick! This family itself is unbelievable, one is a habitual liar, one is a total nut job, one has very real anger management issues and one believes he is a private investigator. Unfortunately you add to the cast of characters the other crazies ( Biaz, Padilla, the family spokesperson who cannot put a comprehensible sentence together) and the whole thing has become a circus! It is no longer about finding Caylee (if it ever was), it is about covering up for Casey THAT IS ALL THEY CARE ABOUT every one of them with the exception of the Padilla’s and I think we all know what that is about. I am not a biological mother but I did take custody of a 16 yr. old boy last year (along with my partner), who for very sad reasons needed us and I can tell you honestly that even in this short time and by no relation I would go to the ends of this earth to find this boy if something happened to him! This seems like it would be the most innate response for anyone with a child, I do not believe the mother is right in the head! I think this child will never be found and I wish the media would give the family what they so apparently want and stop talking about it, showing pictures or anything. Let them stew in their lies and beg for airtime because once everyone is gone I don’t think any of them could keep their mouths shut trying to get their faces back on the television! Narcissism will get the best of this family if we just give them their wish and leave them alone, REALLY ALONE!!!

In regards to yesterday’s news about the Orange County Deputy getting “let go” from his job last Friday for lying (TWICE) about his “fling” with Casey, does anyone have any thoughts on “why” the deputy lied, and not have came forth to his OC superiors and just admit, “hey, I had a relationship with this woman”?
Afterall, the relationship was supposed to have occurred in May (before Caylee became “missing”), so what was there to “hide”? I don’t buy the “fear of death threats” theory (yet?) – this was a deputy after all, and he could have let his superiors known before these alleged death threats were being thrown around to people.

I am wondering. With all the partying that they have found she has done. Do you think she put her in the trunk of that car with a pizza to eat? And when she finally decided to check on her she found her dead. Then panic and decided to get rid of the body and go into denial. After awhile if you say a story so many times, you get to the point that it is true.
The other thing I don’t understand is why none of these people questioned where her daughter was. And why she was never with her.
I know if my child went missing the cops would be the first one called. I would not go trying to investigate myself. She knows what ever happen to that little girl and where she is. She belives her own lies!!!

ok – now that I read a seperate info on a call that Kiomarie called detective later and said the call on July 9 was not from casey Anthony- it was her other friend casey.
I find it very suspicious that she dug near the pool area according to her dad and detective- the same day no one was home and the car was backed into the garage. it is very odd-
also what is very wierd is that she does have emails from Gabe Marsh and Cheryl davis from a yahoo email account that states she was working on some battle of the bands concert with a Juilette Lewis (just as she said she really knew her) that proved that fact- she did Lie about alot of things – but emails police obtained shows this to be true she did know a girl named juilette Lewis/ I find it strange a VP Cheryl Davis has a yahoo to email employees and Gabe Marsh- very odd no company name..

you are so right- I did not think of the car jacking story- I did hear Tony picked her up from the car because it ran out of gas- It makes sense to me now why she left her purse in the car. I really believe now whan ever she killed her and they need to find the body- now that Tim Miller and Equusearch are involved with their special equiptment- I think they will eventually find the body-

From what I just saw on Headline News at 4:30pm, there is some new discovery (at least preliminary? ), which has come from the university in Tennessee USA (WESH) doing the ‘air tests’ – so far we know that the reports say there WAS the smell of decompensation in the trunk of that Pontiac

Okay, that test from the Body Farm of Tennesee, USA, where the “air tests” are being conducted. The first test reveals that there was human body decomposition in the body. This is according to WESH News of Orlando:

the very 1st day that they found the car,i really believed with all my heart thats what she was going to do,and it does make sence,but she didnt expect her mom to find her that day,thats why she was at tony’s but her friend led cindy there,thats why when it came out that Caylee may have been spotted in Ga. i thought, uho casey has found someone to call that tip in before she said anything to anyone(so people would believe they both were missing) and the tipster not knowing she had changed her story called the tip in and was a no show and when you think about what cindy said “if she had done anything why would she park my car in a place i pass everyday for work?”…….simple,….she wanted it to be found & she didn’t care about the stuff she left in it or the smell because it would help her because she had plans of leaving before cindy came looking, but maybe couldn’t get enough money together so she went to tonys who her mom didnt know.

Padilla said they probably wont yank the bond- when he discussed it with his nephew they felt like this is the last time her family may see her- I feel the FBI is holding other test back- gave her a deadline until tomorrow evening for an immunity deal(not full immunity )-however they came up with that- she has a new meeting with her Attorney tomorrow Im sure to go over what their next step is- if she does not tell the truth tomorrow than she could get the death penalty.
(I really believe the theory you came up with- she did not expect her mom to find her) what makes me sick is knowing now Caylee probably passed away On June 16-17 (this was right after the Grandmother last saw her- and Casey out partying knowing her little one has died. Im not the only one thinking they have abused the media privilege which i dont mind standing alone in it but i have often said,there are so many kids out there who really need to be found and their parents and grandparents,family……..etc……..wants their child back in their arms are praying to God that someone will notice and help them but the anthony’s are to busy hogging the media wanting to clear casey that theyve lost sight of Caylee and that makes my blood boil! and honestly if they paid this much attention to Caylee i can clearly see how she ended up missing and it wasnt reported,shoot im a grandmma and i dont see my grandson every single day,but i guarantee you i speak TO HIM’ everyday! if not i’d sure go see then!!!!!!

The very 1st day that they found the car,i really believed with all my heart that she was going to stage a carjacking,and it does make sence,but she didnt expect her mom to find her that day,thats why she was at tony’s but her friend led cindy there,thats why when it came out that Caylee may have been spotted in Ga. i thought, uho casey has found someone to call that tip in before she said anything to anyone(so people would believe they both were missing) and the tipster not knowing she had changed her story called the tip in and was a no show and when you think about what cindy said “if she had done anything why would she park my car in a place i pass everyday for work?”…….simple,….she wanted it to be found & she didn’t care about the stuff she left in it or the smell because it would help her because she had plans of leaving before cindy came looking, but maybe couldn’t get enough money together so she went to tonys who her mom didnt know.
Thats why she never once went back to the car but told tony her dad said he’d take care of it.

It takes me back to my original theory that i really believed she was staging a carjacking,why she left the purse and the car unlocked and all that and she probably thought she could raise enough money by the time her parents got back and she didnt expect cindy to find her remember? and when cindy showed up at tonys,theres nothing she could say,and if ay hadnt knocked and cindy hadnt hid while she knocked she would’ve probably not even went to the door,ya know?

I believe that Tony Lazzaro is lying , when he says that Caylee never stayed over night. And you have to ask yourself why is he lying and I am sure the dectives are thinking the same thing. If her mother stayed at the apartment and there was no baby sitter and she wasn’t home with her grandmother she was staying at that apartment too. Something very sinister happened at that apartment. And the reason why she lies , because she would be implicated also not just her boyfriend so they both go to jail for life. So she lies , they had 3 weeks to clean up after the death of this innocent child, and they had 3 weeks time to get their story straight and cover up. She did not do this alone. It may was an accident , something very sinister went bad. There was no babysitter. Also she had this child on the internet with all different poses and the child reminds me a lot on that little girl the beauty queen in Colorado. She treated this child like a grown up, when you look at those pictures. It’s sick. but true.

TO THE LAWYER AND CASEY’S PARENTS, IF YOU WANT THIS TO GO AWAY, TELL CASEY TO STOP LYING AND TELL THE TRUTH. CAYLEE PROBABLY WILL NEVER BE FOUND BECAUSE CASEY PROBABLY BURNT IT. I HOPE AND PRAY THE LITTLE GIRL IS ALIVE.
As a grandmother of a 2 yr old girl I do not blame Cindy, or Natalie Holloway’s mom for that matter, or any other parent for continuing to search for their missing children even when it looks bleak. I would not stop searching until my child or grandchild was found, dead or alive, and I would not give up hope that she is alive until then either. Caylee deserves that much. Even though the chances of finding her alive, or at all, grow slimmer as time goes on, there is always that small chance that someone has her.
Casey knows something….I’m not convinced that she killed her…she may have, but for sure she was involved in something very direputable and sinister…maybe she sold her or gave her away or used her somehow as collateral for money or drugs. She will get justice in the end. She reminds me of a female version of Scott Peterson…no conscience or sense of right and wrong. She, if innocent, would be persistent like the grandmother is in finding Caylee.
It is frustrating that we can’t find any good leads or information. We are not dealing with a mastermind criminal here, she is a manipulative 22 year old…out partying a lot and bound to have made mistakes covering her tracks, whatever they are. Someone had to see something! And, what about video surveillance of the parking lot where she left her car? or interviewing everyone in that cash advance bldg where she left it (they probably checked that, I haven’t had a chance to read the discovery) . But, there is information out there…just a matter of time. Keep searching for evidence!
Either way, I am heartbroken, as everyone is in this case. God be with you, precious angel Caylee, wherever you are. I am still hoping and praying for your safe return.

I just read all the papers and on page 293 and again 353 it mentions a “Cynthia Anthony” when the items were removed from the residence and listed on the property form. HOWEVER, this Cynthia Anthony shows a birthdate of 9/22/80 and is listed as a BLACK female.
Who the heck is this person????? If this was a mistake, someone made it twice when the form was typed the 2nd time and an officer reviews all these papers so how come someone hasn’t caught the mistake? Or is there another Cynthia that they aren’t showing to the media???
I am obsessed with this case (I come from a long line of male law enforcement officers) as I am with a lot of murders and missing people cases. However this one breaks my heart because such a beautiful child is the one missing and her mother seems to be a cold-hearted stone-faced (hmmm….I’ll be nice here) liar that couldn’t care less about anything except her own agenda. The grandmother is truly a nut case. Sure she’s in denial – I might be too – but she knows what she thought herself in the beginning and is now just trying to cover for her liar of a daughter. WHERE’S THE LOYALTY??? Why cover for the adult? What about the innocent? Stand up for HER, Grandma, if you really ever did love her.

Kathryn Lask also has a book called Shadows in the water. My thoughts are has any detective purchased any of these book and read them because there may be clues in the book. Ironically if you wanted request to have permission to make any copies the address was Orlando Florida (That’s on the other book written by Kathryn Lask called Shadows in the water)hmmmmm.

Do the police know where Casey was living during the 31 day absence from her parents home? Also, how much money did she steal from her grandparents assisted living account? How much did she charge on her parents credit card? Do they know what she spent all this stolen money on? The credit card company has a statement showing charges, i assume they have a copy. What she used all this money on would provide some clues…location & date, types of things or services she wanted, etc. This whole family is lying…little Caylee deserved so much better in this life on earth, my prayers are with her.

Please don’t think that I’m trying to sound like a defense attorney, that’s the last thing I’d want. But, why are these tapes being released? And could it help the defense? Have her (Casey’s) constitutional rights been violated? I’d hate to think that she could get off on a technicality. I also know that they (the police) must be holding out for a body, because that would seal Casey’s fate, but unfortunately with all the rain and weather, what kind of evidence would be left to find? I wonder if they have all of the forensic evidence they’ll ever find and I pray it’s enough to convict. What a Monster this “Mother” is. How does she sleep? She is truly a very disturbed person and needs to be separated from the rest of society. God Bless little Caylee. Your “Mother” may not care, but the rest of the World surely Does.

Wow….. I didn’t really appreciate the Tsunami of lies Casey has told until I read them. She can’t complete a sentence without deceiving someone!! And the detailed deception as if she is making it all up as she goes along. The older Anthony’s early on even admit to the cops that she is a liar. Why did they do such an about face when even more discrepancies are coming fast and furious? Can anyone explain that one?
Read all the documents a couple times. The day the car was picked up at the tow yard is interesting. Shows up in the morning to get it, no cash. Several hours later, both parents arrive with cash, but cause such a scene with the office help that the man is called away from the yard, to the office. After a discussion and fuss about price, disagreement about dates and on and on…..finally title is viewed, money is paid, dad is taken to the car. Sounds a lot like a “stall”. Keep the storeowners busy at the front with some complaint so no one is watching the back. Might have given someone they brought along time to walk back through the yard and remove an item from the trunk, perhaps what was causing the horrific odor. Might have been why George was brave enough to pop the trunk in front of the tow yard man. Maggots were present in the trunk as well as flies. Just a thought.

Some of the things that I felt were strange is that Cindy Anthony has no clue that she was with Caylee on Fathers Day. The next thing that is strange is all those emails from the East Coast company. Who are all those other people? Did Casey make up an entire address book with phony email addresses? This whole thing is very strange. I am beginning to think that no one in this family ( besides Caylee) is innocent.
Question: If the Anthony’s are really interested in searching for their grandchild then why haven’t they released a composite sketch of the woman and others who Casey claims took the child to the media. It sounds as if her attorney does not believe his client either or that sketch would be out there posted along with Caylee’s picture. It does not appear to the public that they are making a sincere effort to find her, just complaining that no one else is trying. Has anyone actually seen a sketch posted.

The Father’s Day photo was a puzzlement for me, too. I thought Caylee looked younger in that photo than she did in several of the others. There was a deposition type letter though from the care home facility, so maybe it was taken on that day. I somehow thought the Father’s Day photo said it was taken with a Sony and I think the camera they turned over to police was a Panasonic? Her friend said they went for a walk with their kids on the 14th. I wondered how the grandmother contacted Casey to get Caylee for the trip to the great grandparents. It was after they had their blow up and she had moved out. From the l6th to July 15th would make the 30 days that Cindy hadn’t seen Caylee though. Did Cindy find out about the stolen money during the Father’s Day visit?
I did see the film of Lee taking the sign from the lady with the dog. Really have to admire his composure and his politeness when he asked her to please just move to the sidewalk with her sign and her dog. He asked her several times explaining very politely why. He remained very composed. I thought she was rude, but she got on tv! Woowoo. Made her day. I guess it is their right to protest in that way, but all that screaming at everyone and cursing…sort of low rent.
Just read that great observation on the waterhose 911 call by Casey. The irony of that is hilarious. Casey calls for her parents hosing down the protestors, but in that other situation, her 2 year old daughter missing or kidnapped, she didn’t call or tell police for 30 days. Oh, she must have been pacing back and forth, sitting on Zenaida’s steps, checking out those tacky clubs where Zenaida usually went…doing her own investigation. I can hear her in the club now, “Hey, do any of you guys know the number for 911? Do I dial a 1 before that? What’s your area code here? Are you sure that’s right? Absolutely.
I’m also addicted to this case. What gets me is why is the grandmother taking up for her? If she really cared about Caylee in anyway, she would not be taking up for her daughter instead be trying to figure out what has happened to the precious little girl or be trying to get some sort of information from Casey (which she probably has already got the whole story from her, but is protecting her for some reason). I’ve read pages upon pages of this case. From the beginning she has lied about everything and made up other lies to cover those lies. So why would anyone want to believe anything that comes out of her mouth? I’ve read what people thought might have happened and really theres soooo many things that could have happened. It’s heart breaking. Maybe she did give Caylee to someone, but if that was the case then why didn’t she just do it legally instead of making it look like the little girl was kidnapped and making herself look like a child killer. I don’t understand. None of it makes sense. As far as the media goes, I think there eating it up being on national television, they love it. And I seen where Cindy said that she would go knocking on every door to find her, how come she isn’t out doing that now? I think it’s because she knows that no one will ever find Caylee. She knows what her daughter has done. She knows theres no hope in finding her alive. But who really knows? No one will until Casey starts speaking the truth, no more lies, no more of the run around, fake addresses. She says shes trying to help. How does that help anything, besides making herself look more and more of a child killer then anything? It just kills me, I want to know sooo bad what has happened to Caylee, just like everyone else. I can understand a young mother going out and having a good time, but taking your 2 year old DAUGHTER with you..that’s just nuts. And it’s hard telling what all Caylee had saw at those parties. I’m hoping and praying that they find her alive, but as it looks I don’t think thats the way it’s going to end up. Maybe if she would have gone to the cops as soon as she seen something wasn’t right, there might have been some hope. If it does turn out that she is gone on to heaven, then I hope Casey has to pay everyday for what she has done to that little angel and if her parents and brother know the truth, i hope they have to suffer for it as well everyday of their life. I think they should have took lie detector test from the beginning, if they were innocent then everyone could have been focused on finding Caylee instead of everything else that is going on. I also saw a myspace page that was made for Caylee. There were pictures of evidence of them finding clothes that were size 5, the same size of clothes they took from Casey’s closet at Cindy and George’s home. They also found a pair of panties that were like a green color with polka dots on them, and also had a picture on there of Casey wearing panties that look identical to the ones they found. And they had also found a shoe and back pack and something pink that looked like a towel that Caylee was laying on in one of her pictures. There’s so much to this case and I think if they media just stay away for awhile and everyone stops talking so much about it, then eventually something will come out to get the media’s attention again.
This is just my insight on things.
I just hope they find Caylee, deceased or alive and bring her home and put this to rest and give everyone closure.

Anybody connect the fact that June 9th is only a week off from June 17th, and that Zenaida Gonzales was visiting apartment 110 which shares a stairway with 210 on the 17th at around the time Casey claims she left Caylee with her?
Unless Casey is a psychic, there is a definite connection. This is strange, and sick. I hope the cops don’t look at this as a coincidence. A picture of Caylee was taken on June 15th, and uploaded to Casey’s laptop on the 17th. That is the most probable day she went missing.
Also, Casey has a strange blog entry on Myspace dated July 3rd which sounds like Casey may have done something to Caylee to punish her mother, Cynthia. Did anyone else notice that in Casey’s appearance in shackles she looks fatter? Nancy Grace keeps reporting on all of her snacks and treats from the commissary, and it now looks like they’re packing onto her face and azz. Since nothing makes this ‘waste of a human’ feel bad for her crimes, maybe if we all tell her how fat she is becoming, her narcissism and vanity will cause her some self esteem issues at the least.
PS I wonder if Cindy Anthony is proud of her contribution to human history…a proven liar, thief and child-killer.

I think there is sooooo much more to this story. There has got to be years worth of back story leading up to this homicide. I’m drawn to the dynamics of the Anthony family because they remind me so much of my ex-inlaws.

Wow, I just read all of the documents and maybe someone has mentioned this before, my eyes are woozy and I haven’t read all of the comments, but isn’t it just a bit disturbing that most of the witnesses’ personal information (ssn, phone numbers and addresses) are listed? This is a stunning case and it becomes more and more intriguing by the day.
