Wishing Well

You may remember Blind Melon as the band who did the “Bee Girl” song/video (actually called “No Rain”, it showed an awkward little girl dancing in a bee outfit).  You may also remember Blind Melon as the band whose lead singer (Shannon Hoon) died way too young of a cocaine overdose, on the tour bus. [...]

This is a cross-post from Last Free Voice.  Members of the political party in question seem to think that I am engaging in “ageism”  by speaking out against young teens being elected to run a national political party.  What do you think?
As point of reference for those not familiar with third party politics, BTP stands [...]

PITTSBURGH – A 20-year-old woman who was robbed at an ATM in Bloomfield was also maimed by her attacker, apparently because of her political views, police said.
According to WTAE’s news exchange partners the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review Ashley Todd, of College Station, Texas, was using an ATM at Liberty Avenue and Pearl Street in Bloomfield just before 9 [...]

My friend and fellow Quatloos volunteer, Webhick, has a great blog called “Illuminati Gone Wild!”  She spoofs (or is it real?) the behind the scenes happenings at Illuminati Central.
For those of you unfamiliar with the term Illuminati, many wacky conspiracy theorists believe they are the masterminds behind pretty much everything they don’t understand.
Today, webhick has [...]

Well, at least it would seem so, since cops arrested an 88-year-old woman for refusing to return a football which her teenage neighbors threw into her yard for the umpteenth time, after she had previously warned them about doing that.
Whatever happened to kids being told to keep their toys out of others’ yards, or they’ll [...]

Kevin Andrew Otwell, age 22 of Gainesville, FL, almost killed his girlfriend’s two-month-old son a few days ago while babysitting while the mother was at work.
His girfriend came home from work to find the baby crying, with blood and an unidentified clear liquid in his diaper.  She and Kevin took the infant to the hospital, [...]

NEW YORK – A woman was convicted of manslaughter Friday in the death of her tiny, malnourished 7-year-old daughter in a case that shocked New Yorkers and hastened reforms in New York’s child welfare agency.
Brooklyn jurors deliberated three days before convicting Nixzaliz Santiago in the January 2006 death of Nixzmary Brown, who was severely punished [...]

Todd Allan Treviso has since plead guilty, but I can’t seem to access the urls which reveal his sentence.  Either way, there is something seriously deviant about anyone who would even think of doing something like this, much less actually do it.

A Westland teenager has been charged with sodomizing, torturing and killing a cat.

This crime occurred on May 12, 2008.  I will see if I can find an update on the case, as it seems the boyfriend may be claiming insanity.  This is another post you probably don’t want to read unless you have a strong stomach.
Edward Allen Covington has been charged this afternoon with three first-degree counts [...]

This was a 2006 death, but I am posting it anyway because of the allegation that the adult didn’t know Methadone is dangerous.  After giving her daughter’s friend a bottle of penicillin and a bottle of Methadone for a mere sore throat, the teen took 18 Methadone pills, and obviously, died of an overdose.
A woman [...]

This news report from Jacksonville, Florida is definitely NOT for the young, or the squeamish.  If you fit either description, stop reading now.  The last I checked on this case, the Edenfields were planning to plead guilty.

As Christopher Barrios’s family struggled to make final preparations to lay the body of the 6-year-old to rest, authorities [...]

Note: This death occurred on April 17, 2007.  I have looked for an update, since the mother is alleged to have possibly suffered from a mental illness, but didn’t see one.  Does anyone else have an update on this case?
A Phoenix couple was arrested Tuesday in connection with the death of their child.

Cole Puffinburger was just a normal little six-year-old boy, until around 7 am Wednesday morning.
That’s when police officers showed up at his parents’ home in Las Vegas, and demanded to see little Cole’s grandfather, Clemens Tinnemeyer.
Problem is, Cole’s grandfather doesn’t live there anymore, and hasn’t been seen since May.  In fact, Cole’s grandfather had been [...]

The Grand Jury has returned a bill for a capital crime.  A capital crime is a crime which is eligible for the death penalty.  There is no bond for a capital crime.
The defendant will not be formally named until after an arrest, but it is reasonable to believe the defendant is Casey Anthony.

Your words to me just a whisper
Your face is so unclear
I try to pay attention
Your words just disappear
‘Cause it’s always raining in my head
Forget all the things I should have said
So I speak to you in riddles
‘Cause my words get in my way
I smoke the whole thing to my head
And feel [...]

I tried to get a video to post, but as usual, WordPress didn’t want to cooperate since it hasn’t been posted on Youtube or Google Video.  Argh.
Frustrated (again) with not being able to post those types of things here, I started a supplemental blog on Blogger, for those things which are incompatible with WordPress.
You can [...]

I previously covered the potential rehearing in the case of Kennedy v Louisiana.
The US Supreme Court has now declined to rehear the case.  This means that it is not permissible in the United States for a state to execute a defendant for child rape.

I am really starting to lose patience with a particular rumor about the Caylee Anthony case.  The rumor is that Caylee’s DNA matched Casey’s completely, and therefore Lee must be the father.
However, the truth is that the mitochondrial DNA extracted from hair is maternally inherited.  Therefore, the only thing it proves is that Casey [...]
