Anyhoo, I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks David Archuletta is creepy. I felt kind of bad for even thinking that, since he’s just a kid, but the truth of the matter is that there’s something not quite right about that kid. Hopefully he’s just a gay Mormon, and not a future serial killer.

Recently, she agreed to marry my son. Then suddenly, she left without so much as a fare-thee-well, decided she was gay, and shacked up with a bull dyke lesbian girlfriend.

She lured Elf to their house on the request that he drop off some shoes she left here. It was very, very late when she called, and he happened to be in that part of town; he had previously put the shoes in his car. When he got there to drop them off on her porch, he was attacked with a baseball bat by the bull dyke, who was hiding around the side of the house.

I spoke to the girls very shortly after it happened. They admitted what they had done, and I was told they did it because the ex-girlfriend gets “confused” when she talks to Elf. Well, I’d be confused too, if I couldn’t decide if I was gay or straight. That’s hardly Elf’s fault.

So yes, she may have no one else (though that’s very unlikely since her mother and her grandmother are still alive and in her neighborhood). However, it’s far, far more likely that she simply wants to know if I have forgiven her for what she did to my son. I have not, and I never will. I treated her like my own child, even referred to her as “the daughter I never had”, and this is how she shows me how much she appreciates what I have done for her.

So she is dead to me, and it is no one’s fault but her own.

I read Ruwart’s book when she announced her candidacy. I found it an over simplified means of creating Utopia. I don’t know who I will vote for if Libertarian Party nominates Bob Barr, Wayne Allyn Root or Mary Ruwart, maybe none of the above.

Recently, my mom was admitted to the hospital confused. The doctor asked her, “Who’s the President.” My mom said, “I don’t know, but our country is in big trouble.” Even confused my mom has more sense than some ~

Personally, I think the LP needs to rid itself of the anarchists once and for all; the recent Ruwart controversy proves why this is not only desirable, but necessary if libertarians want to be taken seriously by mainstream America.

While the Libertarian Party certainly has its fair share of problems, they don’t seem any worse than those of the Democrat or Republican parties. The difference is that the Libertarians DO tend to address and resolve their problems well.

Where you describe Libertarians as “a motley bunch of people with very little in common”, I describe them as a diverse group of people sharing a common desire to promote and create a libertarian society. Where you describe left, right or centrist beliefs within the party as being devisive, this has to do with topics where libertarian philosophy allows for debate. This is natural for a philosophical-based political party.

You are incorrect when you stated that the LNC “was actually supporting a Republican presidential candidate” (i.e., Ron Paul). The LNC DID pass a resolution asking Dr. Paul to seek the Libertarian Party nomination if he did not receive the Republican nomination. Dr. Ron Paul has been in good standing as a paid member of the Libertarian Party for over 30 years (Dr. Paul was the Libertarian Presidential candidate in 198 and Dr. Paul has consistently voted libertarian in Congress for his ten terms there as an elected Republican. With tremendous popularity among Libertarians, the LNC acted under pressure from their membership to extend this invitation to Dr. Paul.

You are correct in pointing out that an LNC member (Bob Barr) has a Republican PAC, and supports Republican candidates even when they are running against Libertarians. Wanna take bets on Barr being re-elected to serve on the LNC? Libertarians gave Barr a chance - and he blew it. The smart money says that Barr is going to be voted off the LNC at the National Convention in Denver.

You talk about the “Libertarian Blogs”. Geez. Any nut case can create a BLOG. If you read the posts, you will see the same small group of individuals repeatedly making nutty comments. Most of the average guy/gal Libertarians don’t post to BLOGs.

BUT, let’s not confuse “real” libertarians with anarchists posing as libertarians. Personally, I consider anarchists to be nuts. And just because some nut-job anarchist joins the Libertarian Party does not make him a libertarian. As you so aptly point out, these nut jobs give the Libertarian Party a bad name. But I find their influence diminishing as the LP grows (most of the anarchists I know have shifted to the Boston Tea Party).

In Colorado, where I live, the LP is currently growing at a rate of over 20%. As the LP grows here, I see the quality of Libertarian activists dramatically improving. I believe that the Libertarian Party is finally growing up.

I most certainly noticed. And I almost upchucked dinner. There is something incredibly creepy about that kid. Like his overbearing stage dad puts bunny rabbits in his cage for him to molest each night while he listens to cotton candy songs. And the incessant lip licking is not helping. And neither is the gasping. I’d make a Darth Vader reference, but like 90% of the songs he slaughters, he’s probably never heard of him.

I should also note that Vote for the Worst is now supporting the boy.

Today my mom got a call from one of her/our former students. He & his brother were raised by their grandparents. This year they lost both grandparents within a month. JC was never in my mom’s classes but only went to her class for extra help usually with tests. It was kind of like Content Mastery or learning lab classes.

I think the parent were actually more involved then most. Most parents just leave the compute to the kids and walk away. I don’t think there was much Megan’s mom could have done to prevent this. The truth is that this little group of evil doer that Lori Drew put together should have never done this BS, but they did and Megan is dead.

I have heard Ashley speak and I believe she is truly sorry for what happened but all I hear from Lori Drew is denial and lies. I hope the state of Ca. gets her for something. She deserves some time in jail for what she did!

In my opinion I do believe theese teenagers did wrong by beating Victoria she didn’t deserved getting beat up by 6 girls at the same time and I think the teengars should have some time in jail…. but!!! my concern is why did Victoria’s parents let her leave out of their house in the first place??? why was she living in Mercades Nichols grandmothers house?? second of all why did Victoria post comments about those girls on myspace?? she’s old enough to know the difference between what’s bad and what’s good…… not that i am on those girls side is just something people have to think of too….. Everyone as a teen gets into arguments with parents like myself but they dont kick me out of the house I don’t leave either I had thought about it but i don’t. I still think its Victoria’s parents fault also.

There haven’t been any updates on the condition of the child, either, and I’m wondering if there has been any sort of fund set up for her.

I’m curious what else you may know about the legal proceedings. Can you point me towards any resources or information?

I went back to using Dell parts. I actually found a really good price on a new battery and adapter, but I can’t remember the site right now. I’ll look for it when I go home.

Oh, and depending on how much you use that laptop, eventually the screen will go dark. Don’t buy a whole new LCD. It’s usually the inverter which is cheap (last one I replaced cost $15 on eBay) and easy to replace.

In my experience (I spent years on Quatloos, investigating scammers and helping law enforcement gather enough evidence to arrest them; I still do it as I have time, since it’s a volunteer position) the people who respond to these emails come from all walks of life. Some are indeed marginalized adults, but many are well educated and seemingly intelligent.

Of course, as the saying goes, “Common sense is not common”.

I applaud you for taking the time to report scammers to their email server. I used to do that, until scammers started commandeering others’ email addresses without their knowledge or consent; at that point I stopped doing it, because then it would harm only an innocent party. Now I just delete them (or make fun of them, depending upon my mood

I’m glad to hear you’re doing your part to stop fraud and help prevent others from being scammed, and I do know that email servers will indeed shut these scammers down very quickly; so kudos to you for doing so, and for providing the information here which I failed to provide.

Sadly, most people who get those kind of letters laugh and wonder why anyone would fall for that. I suspect that the people most likely to fall for them are marginalized adults, those with lower education levels, lower IQs and developmental differences. It makes me mad that someone would take advantage of those who are vulnerable and I just want to do my little part to make their life miserable. Oh, I know that as soon as their email account is closed, they will likely open a new account and continue on with their diabolical activity. But, I have been a gadfly ~ an irritant. I have probably used up 5 minutes of their life.

Mike was always good at making his parents believe that he had done no wrong or that he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. However, this does not excuse them from protecting someone else’s child. GOD rest Logan’s soul. I haven’t lived in West Virginia since I finish school in 1996 and moved away, and I haven’t seen Mike since High School (1993), but I know for a fact that he was diffinately capable of doing such an act. AS SICK AS IT SOUNDS I’m not surprised that he did these acts except for the sexual abuse charge. That one does surprise me because it does not sound at all like Mike. However, since he is sick enough to do the other things he most likely did (In my opinion) I have a hard time thinking he wouldn’t have gone the extra mile in this case.

Anyway, I felt I had to say something about this. I had just heard from my father that he had finally been convicted and I was reading the many posted articles, etc. on the trial. It affected me even more now than it did when it first broke 2 plus years ago because I am now the proud father of a beautiful 16 month old daughter. I couldn’t imagine anyone doing this to anyone, especially a child, it sickens me greatly. The authorities would be putting me in jail for doing to them what they did to my kid if that ever happened to me. Merrifield should be put to death in the same manner that he tortured that poor defenseless little boy. May his little soul rest in peace.

That child and mother will be traumatized forever. Nothing that innocent should EVER experience anything like that. It’s bad enough that it happens to older women - but he crossed a line that is unforgivable. This sick rapist bastard will not survive his trial let alone prison. And the fact that he tried to play ‘hero’ to save his own ass is just priceless. I don’t even think God could forgive him for this!
